Urban Edge Properties is a NYSE listed real estate investment trust focused on owning, managing, acquiring, developing, and redeveloping retail real estate in urban communities, primarily in the Washington, D.C. to Boston corridor. Urban Edge owns 73 properties totaling 17.2 million square feet of gross leasable area.

The CAD Space Management Planner is responsible for producing and maintaining AutoCAD-based floor plans and managing space (area) data to support leasing, property management, and accounting. This is a hands-on technical role focused on CAD work, space calculations, template management, and coordination with internal teams and external consultants. The position does not include leadership duties.

  • Produce and maintain AutoCAD-based floor plans for all properties in the portfolio.
  • Update and maintain the Propidex application (space management database) for all plan and area calculation updates.
  • Prepare and provide area calculation models for prospective tenant occupancies.
  • Create LODs (Lease Outline Drawing) as required to clearly define the boundaries and layout of a leased space for both landlord and tenant.
  • Generate and edit lease exhibit plans.
  • Prepare/review multi-tenant corridor layouts, subdivide plans, and area calculations.
  • Conduct field surveys and provide “As-Built” plan updates for existing tenant spaces (fieldwork required as needed).
  • Prepare “Pre-Built” space layout plans for marketing.
  • Maintain “no build” and pylon sign templates to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for development and leasing activities.
  • Coordinate with outside CAD/drafting/survey consultants and incorporate results with in-house CAD plans.
  • Ensure the corporate website, Power BI, and strategic book are updated with relevant and timely information.
  • Perform quality control of architectural drawings and area calculations.
  • Support leasing, property management, and accounting functions through accurate space and area management.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient AutoCAD drafting skills; current version AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong skills in analytical thinking and organization.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with BOMA & REBNY area measurement standards required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Ability to perform efficient, independent field surveys/verifications (as needed).
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting good judgment and poise.
  • Ability to perform quality control of architectural drawings.
  • Ability to be highly organized, attention to detail, efficient, and dependable under pressure.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.

Education/Experience

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in architecture or real estate, specifically in CAD production and space accounting, is highly preferred.
  • Strong CAD drafting skills; current version AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited AutoCAD certificate course with relevant experience.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
  • Eligible for discretionary target bonus
